I am a teacher of a primary school under Bharti Foundation in West Bengal. Our school is situated at the rural area. Every student of my school is first generation learner. They don’t get any help on studies from their parents or guardians. So I felt in my class that most of the students are very much shy. They have lots of questions or they have lots of quearies but they can’t express themselves during class hours. So I thought I have to give a platfrom where they can ask their thought or quearies without any shyness. Then I made a board and I placed it inside my classroom in reach of students. I have written ‘SORRY I COULDN’T UNDERSTAND’ on the top of the board. Then I asked the children that if you feel that you couldn’t understand any topic or you want clarify any topic then you just write your topic on a piece of paper and paste it on the board. On the very first day students’ response was low. But after few days I saw students are asking questions and quearies freely and I got exact idea about their weaknesses and strength on their subject. Then I made a schedule that I will discuss 10 to 15 minutes out of 1 hour class period about their quearies on previous day’s lesson. Now our students are doing well in their subject.
